  12. As the faq is quite small, I thought posting it here might save some of you
  13. some time.

  17.    Unfortunately an alpha-version of Aweb, a new World Wide Web browser,
  18.    has been heavily spread through Internet and several bulletin board
  19.    systems. This resulted in a huge amount of Email from illegal users.
  20.    This illegal use is strongly rejected. Since the author prefers
  21.    spending his precious time on further developing AWeb instead of
  22.    answering Email, this FAQ should answer the most common questions.

  26.      * What is AWeb ?

  28.        AWeb is a new World Wide Web browser for the Amiga computer. AWeb
  29.        is completely designed and developed by Yvon Rozijn. The current
  30.        version has among other things the following features :

  33.           + AWeb has full HTML-2 support (including forms).
  34.             
  35.           + AWeb uses fully asynchroneous and parallel network access.
  36.             
  37.           + AWeb can use AmiTCP/IP or Inet225 as its TCP stack.

  39.           + AWeb does not use MUI. It uses BOOPSI gadgets instead, which
  40.             results in less memory usage and increased speed.

  42.           + AWeb does not require a TCP/IP stack to be running. Of course
  43.             you can then only read local files.

  45.           + AWeb can load all images, no images, or clickable maps only.
  46.             
  47.           + AWeb opens on the workbench or on an own screen.

  49.           + AWeb takes the ALT-text of non-loaded images into account.

  51.           + AWeb immediately responds to an interrupt-request.

  59.      * What is the latest version of AWeb ?

  61.        The current alpha version can be downloaded from the Amiga
  62.        Magazine BBS.

  65.      * What do I need to run AWeb ?

  67.        Basically the only constraint is that you need to run OS3.x in
  68.        order to take full advantage of AWeb, because AWeb makes use of
  69.        datatypes.

  72.      * Where can I get AWeb ?

  74.        You can get a legal copy of the latest version only if you are a
  75.        subscriber to the bimonthly Dutch Amiga Magazine and have access
  76.        to their BBS. All copies obtained in another way are illegal
  77.        copies and probably outdated.

  80.      * Can I become a beta-testers ?

  82.        No, currently there are enough beta-testers.

  85.      * When will AWeb be available to the public ?

  87.        Probably around February or March a freeware version of AWeb will
  88.        be put on Aminet. An announcement will be posted in
  89.        comp.sys.amiga.networking and comp.sys.amiga.misc. Of course this
  90.        page will provide all information regarding the release-version.

  93.      * How about future versions of AWeb ?

  95.        The freeware version will support HTML-2. Future versions will
  96.        also support HTML-3 and will have a lot of advanced features.
  97.        These future versions will be shareware. The shareware-fee is yet
  98.        unknown.

  103.        At this stage Yvon Rozijn prefers to work on AWeb instead of
  104.        answering huge amounts of Email. Legal users know how to contact
  105.        him. For others it is not yet possible to get in contact.

  110.        If you are using a legal copy, yes. Otherwise, not yet. If you are
  111.        a legal user and have suggestions or comments regarding AWeb, you
